The Google Pixel can do many wondrous things that seem like magic. One of which is performing activities that people generally have to drop over $130 per month for. For those of us running websites in this AI age, SEO (search engine optimization) is something that is radically changing. Google now values EEAT or Expertise, Experience, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness much more than long, drawn out articles that only aim to manipulate search engines.
The ‘A’ in EEAT is one of the most important and hardest parts of ranking because it requires other people to essentially vouch for you. The best way to get these digital recommendations is to obtain a backlink from another well respected source in your niche. Now, blindly emailing thousands of webmasters and begging for a link is normally a painstaking process. To make matters worse it can be a fruitless endeavor if done incorrectly.
Link building is just as much an art as it is a science and it’s something that deserves an article of its own. You can check out places like Moz and Ahrefs for in depth guides on the process. With that said, my job here today is to show you how I built a cheap SEO Analysis Tool. We’ll start first with what you need to build this.
Tech needed for the Diet SEMRush Tool
Google Pixel: Really any android or iOS powered device could work here. I recently acquired a Pixel 10 Pro XL because of its deep integration with Google Workspace and Gemini, so I’ve been using that as my mobile work horse.
Gemini Pro: If you bought a Pixel, Google will bless you with a year of Google AI Pro for free. If not, you could roll with the free version but the performance won’t be as good.
Google Docs and Google Sheets: These are free when you create a Google account.
How To Get Started:
Step 1: Build Your Template in Google Docs
First, you’ll want to head into your Google Workspace account and open up a fresh Google Doc. This is where you’ll build the outreach template your AI Agent will use to craft the outreach template. It’s best you craft it to fit your individual niche but here’s how an outreach template would look:
Sample Outreach
Think of Google Docs as your HubSpot email template. It’s where you craft and store your eye catching marketing material that’ll woo every potential into a lifetime subscription.
Step 2: Choose your target keywords and store them in Google Sheets
Gather a list of keywords you’d like to rank for and store them in Google Sheets. I try to store tag mines using a proprietary difficulty rating. SEMRush has theirs as do other tools. I structure the data in the spreadsheet like this:
Keyword
Intent Type
Page Type - Article, Calculator, Generator, Tool, etc.
Google Sheets is going to serve as your database for this endeavor. It houses your target keywords, intents, the types of pages you’ll create and more. It can also be used in Power Automate or Zapier automations to bring the data you scrape into a CRM or ERP.
Step 3: Let Your Pixel Do the SEO Research in Gemini
Once you’ve crafted your e-mail template and built your keyword database, it’s time to let Gemini do its thing. Here’s a prompt you can steal to put your most productive employee to work.
You are a site owner in this niche [ insert your niche ]. Use the keywords found in my Google Drive in the spreadsheet [ Spreadsheet Name ] to perform keyword research on the top 10 sites that rank for each keyword. Give me an output that includes the site name, url, word count, webmaster contact, your difficulty rating for obtaining a backlink, and your difficulty rating for outranking them.
If outranking them is near impossible, give me another keyword that is less competitive but related. Next, craft an outreach template specific to their article using the outreach template found in this Google Doc [ Document Name ]
Once you hit send, Gemini will start to comb through your Google Drive.
Then, you’ll get an output similar to this one.
Now that you’ve got this info, simply copy and paste your fully customized outreach templates into your gmail and start acquiring those backlinks. PRO Tip: Gemini is great but it's no replacement for human communication and creativity. You know your brand and business better than even the most sophisticated AI tools. Be sure to inject a healthy dose of you into all your outreach attempts. Your recipients will appreciate this as their inboxes are flooded with what the digital populous has dubbed ‘AI slop’.
Key Takeaways and Tips:
Fine tune your prompts for optimal results.
While Gemini is my go-to tool for research and development work, ChatGPT is my content creation buddy. If Gemini and ChatGPT were T.V. Gemini would be a crime procedural like Law & Order. Great content but episodic in nature. One episode’s storyline seldom gets carried on to the next. ChatGPT is more like One Piece, it strings together long narratives, each building upon the next. This makes it great for building a creative foundation but can get messy overtime…also similar to the One Piece story. In techie terms, it's a battle of stateless vs persistent context.
For this reason, tailoring your prompts in Gemini is vital to your success. I’ve found that setting the stage for Gemini gives you a better result. Instead of outright asking it to do something, give it a point of reference.
Instead of saying: Give me a list of relevant keywords for my site GoogleFlows.com say, You are the webmaster for GoogleFlows.com - curate a list of low competition, long tail keywords that are topically relevant. Context matters here more than anything.
Use That Tiny AI Powered Machine To Conquer Goals
The reason I chose the Google Pixel as my mobile productivity machine is because of its deep integration with Gemini. As long as I’ve got a halfway decent internet connection I can do things like conduct keyword research while I’m at my son’s soccer practice. I can read and interpret docs and spreadsheets, trigger workflows through Zapier and more.
I still have my trusty iPhone 15 Pro Max but it's become more of a personal device given most of my family are hardcore Apple users. My dual set up is perfect for my current workflow and enables me to be present in my family’s lives without sacrificing progress in my business life.
